Carol Poore

Carol Poore will take over July 23 as president and chief executive of Body Positive, an HIV/AIDS Research and Resource Center in Phoenix.

The group's board made the announcement Monday following a national search to replace Brian Helander, who disclosed plans to retire early this year.

Poore has served as the vice provost of public affairs for Arizona State University at the West campus since 2002, during which time student population grew from 4,000 to more than 9,000. She previously was the director of marketing and communication for New West Energy, a subsidiary of Salt River Project.
