On August 21, Stephen Bailous was named director of community affairs of the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA). Before joining NAPWA, he was the director of PLWHA Initiatives in New York City at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Bailous was part of the Office of AIDS Policy coordination and was the staff liaison to the Consumers Committee of the Planning Council, and the PLWHA Advisory groups to the Prevention Planning Group and Planning Council.
